Know The Parts
The Grip consists of four parts. Examine each part for any defects or sharp edges. Do not use the device if any issues are found. contact HZD Secure for assistance.
Shaft Cage: The main enclosure for the penile shaft.
Glans Grip Ring: A ring designed to fit around the glans (head) of the penis. To identify the front of the ring, look for the side that would lay flat on a table. This side is the “front” and should face away from the body. To identify the bottom of the ring look for the section that is slightly larger and straight. This is the pivot and should be at the bottom of glans.
Glans Grip Ring Holder: An A-shaped piece that holds the ring to the shaft cage. The opening on this piece will face forward, or away from the body.
Glans Hood: A cover that fits over the glans, securing the device.
Barrel Lock: Holds it all together and keeps everything secure.
Putting it in place
- Gently pull your penis through the shaft cage until the glans is fully exposed beyond the cage.
- Pick your glans ring. The Grip includes multiple size glans rings. You should start with the one based on your order. If your chosen ring doesn’t offer enough retention try the size smaller. Too tight, try the size larger. You want a ring that provides good retention but is not so tight as to cause pain during an erection. If all of your rings are too small or too tight, reach out to us at getagrip@hzd.us
- Place the tip of your penis into the glans ring. The ring won’t go over the glans, but you should be able to stick the tip of the penis through enough to pinch it; this is normal.
- Pinch the tip of your penis and gently pull forward while maneuvering the head left and right to ease the ring over the glans. You can also pull backwards on the low part while pulling forward on the penis. Once the bottom of the glans is through, you can then repeat the step by pulling the top of the glans ring backwards while pulling the tip of the glans forward.
- Attach the ring holder. The opening on the ring holder should be facing forward or away from you body. Squeeze the glans at the ring to make space for the holder and then just clip it over the pivot at the bottom of the ring. Once the holder is in place test the fit.
- Pull from the bottom of the ring using the ring holder; there should be resistance and you should feel the ring grip onto the penis
- Pull from the top; the ring should slide over the glans and come off with little pressure.
- Snap the ring holder into the shaft cage. It should align with the front of the shaft and snap into place
- Place the glans hood over the glans, ensuring it fits comfortably and securely.
- Insert the barrel lock to fasten all components together, completing the assembly.
Testing the hold
Basic Comfort Checks: Move around to ensure there is no pinching, chafing, or undue pressure. The device should feel snug but not painful. You should pay attention throughout the course of wearing. Be sure to check for issues in both a flaccid and erect state.
Security Verification: Gently pull the device forward to confirm it remains securely in place. You should be able to apply some pressure without the grip coming off. DO NOT PULL WITH EXCESS FORCE. If the retention provided is not sufficient, you may try one of the smaller glans rings included in your order. Be sure to go slowly if you downsize and be cautious when testing the retention.
